SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team pulled away in the second half Saturday afternoon, using a 47-point surge to secure a 77-46 victory over Sul Ross State at the Junell Center–Stephens Arena.
With the win, the Rambelles improved to 11-9 overall and 9-5 in Lone Star Conference play. ASU has now won six straight games and eight of its last nine.
Angelo State shot 49.1 percent from the field, including 46.2 percent from 3-point range. The Rambelles also held a 42-40 rebounding advantage and forced 16 turnovers, converting them into 20 points.
Landry Morrow led the way with 15 points while adding three rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
Taylor Grona followed with 13 points and a team-high four assists.
Kenna Wood and
Tristin Keller added 11 and 10 points, respectively, and combined for five assists.
Briley Merket scored nine points,
Stevi Lockhart finished with eight,
Majik Esquivel added seven,
Dragana Scepanovic scored three and
Halle Hughes chipped in one.
The Rambelles return to action Thursday, Feb. 12, when they travel to Central Texas to face St. Edward's. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
