INDOOR SEASON
The Rams and Rambelles sent 11 athletes to compete at the Division II Indoor National Championships on March 13-14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where the Rams finished fourth overall, scoring 33 points.
William Opare, the high-point scorer of the meet with 20.5 points, won the 400m national championship, finished second in the 200m, and anchored the 4x400m relay, which also claimed top honors.
LAST TIME OUT(DOORS)
The Rambelles and Rams competed in their first outdoor meet, the Blue and Gold Battle, in Kingsville two weeks ago. The meet, which was a duel between ASU and Texas A&M-Kingsville, saw the Rams and Rambelles record seven provisional marks.
QUICK NOTES
- Action kicks off this weekend with the discus throw at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by the javelin throw at 4:30 p.m. The track action begins at 6 p.m. with the running of the 1500 meters.
- Pole vault starts off Saturday's action at noon, and running events will begin at 2 p.m. with the 4x100m relay.
