Abilene, Texas – The Angelo State track and field teams had a successful outing at the Wes Kittley Invitational hosted by Abilene Christian, where the Rambelles and Rams recorded ten provisional marks.
The Rambelles recorded three, two of whom were field athletes, while the Rams tallied seven, four of whom were field athletes.
For the Rambelles, Ekaterina Fedetova finished second in the javelin with a throw of 44.35 meters; however, that mark does not top her previously set provisional of 50.39 meters.
Esma Pajt finished second overall in the hammer throw, setting a season-best provisional mark of 53.60 meters in the event.
Kaylee Price improved on her qualifying mark in the 400m hurdles, dropping four-tenths of a second from her previous season-best as she crossed the line with a time of 1:01.39.
Francis Patanpatan finished second overall in the 200m dash with a time of 21-flat, good enough to give the freshman a provisional mark in the event.
Dayvon Williams lept into qualifying mark territory with a season-best jump of 2.05 meters. Williams took home a second-place finish in the high jump.
Jamie Moreno won the men's javelin throw with a throw of 65.60 meters, his last throw of the day, which saw him record a provisional.
Jonathan Wright recorded a qualifying mark in the pole vault with a best of 4.87 meters; however, he did not improve on his previously set provisional mark.
Vanam Sharma recorded his second qualifying mark of the season, this time in the shot put with a throw of 16.89 meters, which saw him finish second overall.
The men's 4x100m relay team of
Coy Klish,
Francis Patanpatan,
Lamont Reed, and
Taylor Briggs won the event with a 39.91, which is a provisional in the event.
Francis and
Karl Patanpatan,
Adrian Nethersole, and Briggs, in the 4x400m relay, winning that event after crossing the line with a time of 3:10.44. That time is the fastest in Division II this season.
The Rambelles and Rams are home next week to host the David Noble Relays.
