SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State track and field teams swept the 54
th Annual David Noble Relays as they tallied 17 provisionals this afternoon at LeGrand Stadium at 1
st Community Credit Union Field.
With the two provisional marks set yesterday in the shot put, the Rambelles and Rams collected 19 this weekend. The Rambelles collected 213.5 team points while the Rams finished 232.5 team points.
Marie Schuler set a meet record in the hammer throw with a mark of 60.96 meters (200-00). The mark, an improvement on her previously set provisional mark, shatters Sara Ramos' previous meet record mark of 58.49 meters (191-11) set in 2021.
Esma Pajt finished second in the event and improved on her qualifying mark with a throw of 54.63 meters (179-2).
Ekaterina Fedetova won the javelin with a hurl of 42.49 meters (139-5). Her best throw of the day is a provisional mark, but not an improvement on her season best.
Kamryn Williams, fresh off her win in the shot put yesterday, finished second in the discus with a qualifying mark of 46 meters (150-11).
Dayvon Williams took top honors in the high jump, matching his already-set provisional mark of 2.05 meters (6-8.75).
Kaylee Price tallied a pair of provisionals in the 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles, doing so with times of 14.11 and 1:01.48, respectively, as she finished second overall in each event. Her 100m hurdle time is a season best, while her 400m hurdle time is only a tenth off her season best.
Shackelia Green and
Lainey Jernigan joined their teammate Price with provisional marks in the 400m hurdles. Green took top honors in the event with a time of 1:00.78, while Jernigan clocked 1:01.30 to finish third.
Keagan Galmor ran a season-best 55.13 in the 400 meters as she notched a qualifying time.
The Rams' 4x100m relay team of
Bautista Diamante,
Taylor Briggs,
Francis Patanpatan, and
William Opare won the event with a time of 39.88 seconds, a provisional mark in the event.
The Rams swept the top four places in the 400 meters, with all four Rams – Opare,
Rami Balti,
Jahleel Armstrong, and
Francis Patanpatan – tallied provisional marks. Opare's 45.98 in the prelims was the best mark of the day, while Balti, Armstrong, and Patanpatan's best times came in the finals.
Briggs also took home first place in the 400 hurdles with a qualifying time of 53.04.
Briggs was also a part of the 4x400m relay team with
Karl Patanpatan,
Francis Patanpatan, and Balti, that ran a time of 3:08.69, the final provisional for the weekend and the fastest time for ASU in the event this season.
The Rambelles and Rams will compete at the Texas Relays next week in Austin.
