Abilene, Texas – The Angelo State track and field teams wrapped up competition at the War Hawk Classic this weekend, hosted by McMurry, and despite rain shortening the meet, the Rams and Rambelles still walked away with four more provisional marks.
All three of the Rams' provisionals came in the throwing circle, while the Rambelles' provisional mark happened in one of the few track events to run this afternoon.
Vanan Sharma finished second in the discus throw with a best throw of 175-10 (53.60m), an improvement on his previous season best.
Kobi Valchar recorded his season-best in the discus with a throw of 171-4 (52.22m), good enough for a qualifying mark.
Sharma also saw improvements in the shot put, throwing a season-best provisional of 56-10.75 (17.34m), nearly a half-meter improvement from his previous best.
The Rambelles' 4x100m relay team of
Kylie Frush,
Keagan Galmor, Aaliyah Harrison, and
Kinlee Lawlis notched ASU's lone provisional on the track with a time of 45.77.
The Rams and Rambelles compete next weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific, and the Joe Gillespie Invitational, hosted by Tarleton State.
