Richardson, Texas – Angelo State softball pitcher
Addy Ewing has been named the Lone Star Conference's Pitcher of the Week following a standout week in the circle, the conference announced late this afternoon.
Ewing, a product of Owasso, Oklahoma, only allowed one run in 11.1 innings of work as the Rambelles swept the weekend, extending ASU's winning streak to a dozen games.
The Exercise Science major picked up the save in game one against Lubbock Christian, allowing three hits and a run in 2.2 innings. She returned to the circle in game two against LCU, notching five outs and only allowing one hit and one walk.
Ewing ended her weekend by throwing her first complete-game shutout for Angelo State, only allowing three hits against Midwestern State – all singles – as the Mustangs only mustered one runner into scoring position.
This is Ewing's first weekly honor at Angelo State. She has a 15-0 record and leads the LSC with a 1.99 ERA.
Ewing and the Rambelles close out the regular season on the road this weekend, facing No. 6 West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
