Rams Football Round Out Staff With Additions of Messinger and Osagiede

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University football program has rounded out its staff for the 2026 season with the additions of Rob Messinger and Dennis Osagiede as announced by Rams Head Coach, Jeff Girsch.

ROB MESSINGER, WIDE RECEIVERS & RECRUITING COORDINATOR
Messinger, a native of Topeka, Kansas, brings 21 years of experience as he joins the Rams as the Wide Receivers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator after spending the previous three seasons at Butler Community College, serving as the Offensive Coordinator. During his time with the Grizzlies, he produced 20 offensive players to the Division I level. In 2025, BCC boasted a top 20 offense in points per game, rushing and red zone scoring while producing a NJCCA 1st Team All American.

Messinger is no stranger to the Lone Star Conference as he was previously with UT Permian Basin, serving in multiple roles including Wide Receivers, Special Teams and Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator from 2019-2022 where he produced the LSC Player of the Year in wide receiver MJ Link.

Quote from Coach Girsch
"A coach that I've known throughout the profession and have a lot of respect for. He's been an elite recruiter everywhere he's been, that's something that was huge for me. With his experience as an offensive coordinator within the conference, he has a strong understanding of what we're going to face week to week. I was excited about getting the opportunity of getting him here to work with the guys and this staff. "

DENNIS OSAGIEDE, DEFENSIVE LINE
Osagiede joins the Rams after spending one season at Colorado State-Pueblo, serving as the defensive tackles coach. In that one season, the Thunderwolves went 10-2 and 9-0 in conference play on the way to capturing the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship. Pueblo boasted the second-best rushing defense in the conference, allowing just over 122 yards per game on the ground.

The Houston, Texas native began his coaching career in 2023, spending the first two seasons at Belton High School, serving as the defensive line coach in 2023 and the running backs coach in 2024.

Quote from Coach Girsch
"Coach O is an outstanding football coach. He's young, energetic and a great relationship builder. Everything jumped out at us that he was the right guy for the job. Running his own room and coaching the defensive line was something he couldn't wait to do here at Angelo State. He's played the position of defensive tackle, and he worked for some great coaches at Pueblo who I have a lot of respect for."
