Tucson, Ariz. – The Angelo State golf team ended its regular season on a high note this afternoon, finishing in a tie for second place at the Desert Invitational hosted by West Texas A&M in their final tune-up before the Lone Star Conference tournament next week.
The Rambelles' +15 in the second round was tied for the second-best score of the day.
The Rambelles finished behind hosts WT and tied with CSU Pueblo, who won the previous tournament the Rambelles competed in.
The Rambelles finished ahead of two nationally ranked teams and five regionally ranked teams.
The team score of 602 is the ninth-best in 36 holes in program history.
Mia Clarke climbed up the leaderboard, finishing tied for fourth as the senior shaved two strokes off her round one score. She was one of only seven players to record an eagle this week and was tied for the best scoring average on par fives (4.50).

Beth Norton, who carded a 76 today to finish in a tie for seventh place.
Caitlin Vanderkruk duplicated her round one score, shooting a 77 for the second-straight day as she finished tied for 24
th.
Christine Huse, who was one of only two players in the field to average better than even on par threes, cut down two strokes from yesterday as she finished tied for 30
th.
Kara Knight finished tied for 42
nd with a cumulative score of 159 (+15).
Emma Cook, competing as an individual, finished 67
th as she followed yesterday's 82 with an 86 today.
The Rambelles are back in action next week, competing in the LSC Tournament in Rockwall.
