Richardson, Texas – On the heels of the 2026 Outdoor National Championship Meet, the Lone Star Conference has released its 2026 All-LSC awards for the outdoor season, with
Rami Balti earning the Cap Shelton Award for Outstanding Track Athlete, and head coach
Tom Dibbern garnering the LSC Men's Coach of the Year award.
Balti, a senior from Tunisia, wins the Rams' ninth-ever Cap Shelton Award, becoming the sixth different athlete from ASU to do so, joining: Kofi Okyir (1973 and '74), Wylie Turner (1978), Justin Boyd ('07), Jeremy Jones ('08), Luis Perez (2015 and '16), and Z'Antyler Foster-Hooks (2019).
The Coaching, Sport, Recreation, and Fitness Administration graduate scored 12.5 points at the LSC Championships, winning the 400 meters and being a part of the winning 4x400m relay team.
Dibbern earns his fourth LSC Men's Coach of the Year award – his third at ASU – having previously won it in 2015 (with East Texas A&M), 2018, and 2019.
This marks the 15
th different time an ASU coach has won this award: David Noble (nine times – 1972, '74, '76, '77, '82, '89, '90, '91, '92), Clint Ramsey (1983), and James Reid (two times – 2001 and 2013).
In addition to the two superlative awards, the Rams have 15 student-athletes named to the all-conference teams, while the Rambelles earned nine. Three ASU student-athletes were named to the LSC All-Academic teams.
