The Series
•Angelo State-West Texas A&M:
No. 3 seed Angelo State will face No. 1 seed West Texas A&M for the 61st in program history Saturday in the LSC Championship match. The Lady Buffs hold the advantage in the series, with a record of 45-15 over the Rambelles. ASU is looking for its first win over the Lady Buffs since 2004, when ASU swept its conference rivals at the Junell Center. Since 2005, West Texas has put together an 8-0 record over Angelo State.

The Coaches
• Angelo State:
Chuck Waddington (Rensselaer, 1993) took over the ASU program in 2008 and has since guided the 'Belles to a 58-39 overall mark. Waddington has propelled the Rambelles to three consecutive LSC conference appearances. Under Waddington's tutelage, the 'Belles finished the 2010 regular season with a 19-11 overall record and a 12-2 conference mark, their best record with Waddington at the helm.

• West Texas A&M: Jason Skoch (Oklahoma State, 1998) is in just his second year with the Lady Buffs, but he has already established himself as their leader. In his first season at the helm, Skoch led West Texas A&M to a 39-4 record, its 15th LSC title, 20th NCAA Regional apperarance, 11th NCAA Regional title and 11th Elite Eight appearance. This season, he guided the Lady Buffs to a perfect 14-0 conference record as the No. 1 seed in the Lone Star Conference Tournament.

The Program
• The 'Belles swept LSC foe No. 22 Abilene Christian for the first time since 1998 to advance to the LSC Championship match for the first time since 1993.
• The Rambelles were led by junior Debbie Ohl's match-high 14 kills, freshman Maddie Huth's .545 hitting percentage, sophomore Alex Woolsey's 44 assists and libero Caroline Cleveland's 16 digs.
• ASU finished the regular season in third place in the Lone Star Conference with a 12-2 conference record. This is the 'Belles' best record under head coach Chuck Waddington.
• Waddington added assistant coach Qi Wang to his staff over the summer. Wang brings a wealth of experience to Angelo State as he was the former head coach at Florida Tech, Northern Michigan and Truman State. The China native led Truman State to the national title game in 2002 and 2004, and was named Division II National Coach of the Year in 2002.
• Former East Central standout Holly Hicks also has joined the 'Belles coaching staff as graduate assistant. Hicks enters her first year of coaching with numerous hours of playing time on her resume. The Round Rock, Texas native competed as a member of the Austin Juniors, one of the top club programs in the state, and earned an athletic scholarship to Texas Tech.
• ASU Volleyball was picked to finish third in the conference behind West Texas A&M and Abilene Christian University.

This Week's Opponent
• West Texas A&M:
The Lady Buffs come into the Lone Star Championship match on a 12 match winning streak and have won four straight LSC Championships. The regular season champions have not lost a match since Oct. 15 when they dropped a 3-0 contest to Oklahoma Baptist. West Texas A&M is led by LSC Newcomer of the Year, Keidra Williams. Williams is hitting .277 on the season and averaging 1.77 kills per set. Lauren Thedford leads the team with 346 kills and 466 digs on the year. Setter Erika Dupree has accumulated 800 assists and is averaging 6.50 assists per set to lead the Lady Buffs. As a team, West Texas A&M tops the conference in hitting percentage (.233), assists per set (12.89) and kills per set (13.73). The Lady Buffs rank third in the LSC with 1.96 blocks per set.
