RESULTS
SAN ANGELO, Texas – The No. 5 Rams and No. 19 Rambelles track & field teams recorded a total of seven NCAA Division II marks at the Texas Tech Invitational held at the Terry & Linda Fuller Track in Lubbock, Texas.
Jayda Spencer threw her first NCAA Division II provisional mark of the season in the discus. Her throw of 157'-03” (47.92m) is No. 7 in NCAA Division II and the best throw in the Lone Star Conference this season. Spencer finished in third place in the 'A' division while teammate
Kimberly Williams was seventh with a throw of 126'-9” (38.64m)
Freshman
Ashlie Francis made her mark as well with NCAA Division II provisional throw in the discus. Francis threw 145'-4” (44.30m) and placed third in the 'B' division. She is now the fourth ranked discus thrower in the LSC. The freshman also threw the shot put 39'-5.25” (12.02m) and placed 10
th.
The Rams joined the throwing party.
Keaton Hatch hit a personal-best mark of 176'-11” (53.92m). His throw is a NCAA Division II provisional mark and ranks at No. 5 in NCAA Division II. Hatch is now No. 2 in the LSC.
Sean Reagan threw a personal best as well with a throw of 170'-00” (51.83m). It is his first NCAA Division II throw in the discus of the season and it puts him at No. 9 in NCAA Division II.
Williams also threw the women's shot put. She finished in fourth place with a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 43'-11.75” (13.40m). On the men's side Reagan was sixth with a throw of 50'-00” (15.24m).
Jacob McDonald cleared his first NCAA Division II provisional mark of the season in the pole vault. McDonald was able to clear 16'-1.25” (4.91m) and move up to No. 6 in NCAA Division II.
Summer Sutherland recorded a fourth place finish in the women's pole vault. She cleared a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 12'-00.00” (3.66m).
Aimee Denham and
Kelsey Coffman both cleared 11'-6.25” (3.51m) but Denham placed fifth and Coffman sixth due to attempts.
Kati Holly cleared 5'-1.75” (1.57m) to place seventh in the women's high jump.
