Feckley Named Starting Pitcher Against Southern Arkansas

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Jake Feckley is back.
 
The Angelo State sophomore has been announced as the starting pitcher an hour before the Rams take on Southern Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional.
 
Feckley has not pitched since April 14 against Tarleton State in Stephenville. He has been experiencing tendonitis and did not throw in the final two series of the regular season or in last weekend's Lone Star Conference Baseball Championship. The right hander, who was named to the LSC's second team as a starter, did not get a decision in that game after striking out five in 5.2 innings of work. 
 
“I think we have a great chance of winning when he's out there throwing for us,” ASU head coach Kevin Brooks said. “He's looked good so far in practice and he says he's ready to go. He's a great competitor out there and we all have a lot of confidence in him.”
 
A transfer from Texas A&M, Feckley has started 10 games this season for the Rams after serving as the Aggies closer two years ago. He has taken advantage of his opportunity by striking out 45 and walking only 14 in 55.2 innings pitched coming into tonight's game.
