Austin Beck and Angelo State Volleyball's
Ireland Ferguson were honored as a part of the Lone Star Conference's Class of 2026 Scholar-Athletes, the conference announced this afternoon.
Beck, a senior standout for the Rams baseball program, is pursuing his MBA after earning his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. The Allen, Texas product capped off a historic career in 2026 by becoming the first player in NCAA Division II history to surpass 300 career runs scored. Beck finished his career as the Division II all-time leader with 311 runs scored.
On the field this season, Beck batted .339 with a .449 on-base percentage and a .560 slugging percentage. He collected 74 hits, including 30 extra-base hits, while driving in 62 runs and scoring 69 times. He also stole 50 bases, setting Angelo State's single-season record and extending his career program record in the category.
Beck was named the LSC Academic Player of the Year in baseball and was named a CSC First Team Academic All-American earlier today.
Ferguson, a senior libero from Venice, Florida majoring in Marketing was an All-LSC Second Team selection as she helped lead the Belles to a 26-8 overall record and a 15-2 record in LSC play.
The Belles won the LSC Regular Season and Tournament Championships and advanced to the regional final for the second consecutive season.
Ferguson finished her career with 1,061 digs and 98 service aces. She became the 16
th player in program history to record a thousand or more digs for the Blue and Gold.
Ferguson led the Belles with 483 digs, averaging 4.16 per set and recorded 29 aces from the service line.
