West Texas A&M placed the first point on the board, but was quickly met with a Chinn kill to even the score. A pair of WTAMU errors then extended the score to 3-2 in favor of ASU. With the two teams exchanging points the score was tied at five when Anna Graham fired in her first of a team third eight kills to jump start a 5-1 ASU run. This pushed the Belles back out in front 10-6 and also saw big swings from Sotello and Leiyona Young. WTAMU would try to regain its footing, but with 12-11 on the board ASU embarked on another lengthy 6-1 run headed by a Morgan Seaton kill. ASU would continue to hold off the Lady Buffs and a Young kill would secure the set win.
In the second set, Angelo State once again jumped out to 3-2 lead. The Belles would be unable to hold on as WTAMU rallied with a 7-2 run to take the 9-5 lead. Down 16-11, Bailey Drum slammed down the first kill of a four point run. However, West Texas A&M responded and continued to build upon its lead. Trailing 22-16, Haley Coulter, Sotello and Parker attempted to bring the Belles back on another rally but it would ultimately fall short with the Lady Buffs taking the set.
With the match tied at one set each, Angelo State would come out of the break swinging taking the early lead for the third straight set. Despite the Belles best efforts, WTAMU slowly chipped and brought the set back to an even 13. The Lady Buffs would continue to add to points and would close out the set taking a 2-1 set lead.
