SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State men's basketball team will host a pair of games this weekend in the Stephens Arena at the Junell Center for their second annual Thanksgiving Classic, taking on Paul Quinn College Friday and facing Adams State on Saturday with both game at 7 p.m.
The Rams (3-1) are leading the Lone Star Conference in scoring margin, averaging 81.3 points per game while also leading in rebounding.
Junior college transfer Ronald Bell leads the team in scoring through the first two weeks of play with an average of 18.3 points per game. The guard has hit four of nine three-point attempts and is also the team's leading rebounder with 8.3 per game.
Just one other Ram is averaging double figures this season in Josh Boutte who is averaging 15 points a game. He is also the team's second best rebounder with an average of 7.8 per game.
ASU spreads the scoring around mostly though, with five other players on the team averaging at least five points a game.
Antonio Singleton is averaging six points a game as Angelo State's leading three point shooter with six threes on the year. Two other Rams have hit five threes this season in Paul Williams and Collin Turner who are averaging 8.0 and 7.3 points per game, respectively.
Turner is also one of only two Rams to have double-digit assists at 10, along with James Kirksey who is the team leader a 16. Kirksey spends the second most time on the floor on the team and is averaging 8.8 points per game.
Angelo State will host neutral site games prior to their own both days of the Thanksgiving Tournament, as Central Baptist takes on Adams State at 5 p.m. on Friday and faces Paul Quinn on Saturday.
