DENTON – The Angelo State men's basketball dropped Monday night's exhibition with North Texas 89-55 on the road.
Three Rams finished in double figures on the night, as newcomer Ronald Bell led the team in scoring with 18 points. Bell shot 8-for-17 from the floor and hit one three-pointer in 24 minutes on the floor.
Returner Daron Mims was right behind Bell, finishing with 17 points on the night, and fellow returner Antonio Singleton got 12 points of his own.
Josh Boutte led the team in rebounding on the night, pulling down five boards in his 21 minutes on the floor.
Overall, 12 Ram players saw playing time, including eight of the 11 newcomers and all three of the freshmen on the team.
ASU will now look toward the start of the regular season as they prepare for Friday's season opener against the University of the Southwest in the Tarleton Classic. The game will tip off at 5 p.m. in Stephenville, Texas in Wisdom Gym.
