Rams blow out Mustangs

SILVER CITY, NEW MEXICO – The Angelo State men's basketball team picked up another conference road win as they easily defeated Western New Mexico 87-64 to move to 12-4 (5-2 Lone Star Conference) on the season.

The Rams were led by Kiair Crouch, who scored 23 points and shot 6-9 from the three point line. The 23 points are a season and career high for Crouch. Ronald Bell added 14 points, Buddy Mims scored 12, and Josh Boutte had 10. Boutte also led the team in rebounds with 13, seven of them on the offensive end.

For the game, the Rams shot 43 percent from the field and 41 percent from the three point line while holding the Mustangs to 41 percent from the field and 8 percent from the three point line. They also outrebounded the Mustangs by a whopping 49-21 margin.

The Rams will be in action again next week as they take on Cameron and Midwestern State in the Junell Center.
