SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State men's basketball team will look to build off last weekend's dramatic win over Midwestern State as they take on Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce at home this weekend.
The Rams (13-5, 6-3 LSC) are led by senior guard Antonio Singleton, who averages 14.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the field and 46 percent from the three point line. He is joined in double figures in points by Ronald Bell, Daron Mims, and Kiair Crouch. Bell is averaging 12.4 points and seven rebounds per game while shooting 46 percent from the field. Mims is averaging 11.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game, and Crouch averages 10.5 points in just 20 minutes per game.
Other consistent contributors this season include James Kirksey, Josh Boutte, Collin Turner, Paul Williams, Marcel Pettway, and Valentine Sangoyomi. Kirksey has continued to demonstrate that he is the best all around player on the team and averages eight points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. Boutte is averaging 7.9 points and a team leading 7.1 rebounds. Turner and Williams average an identical 5.9 points per game. Pettway averages 3.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while Sangoyomi averages 2.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest.
Tarleton State comes into Thursday's contest with a record of 15-5 (5-4 LSC) and having won their two previous games. They have won just two of five games on the road this season.
Texas A&M-Commerce comes into Saturday's game with a record of 15-4 (7-2 LSC) and having won their last game against UTPB.
