CANYON, TX – The Angelo State Rams will face the Cameron Aggies in the semifinal round of the Lone Star Conference Baseball Championship. The Aggies advance to face the Rams after taking down UTPB in a 9-0 shutout Friday afternoon.
The Rams and Aggies faced off earlier this season in April, when the two were tied for the best record in the conference. The weekend ended in a four game sweep for the Rams, who outscored the Aggies 61-14. This was the same time period the Rams were the 11th ranked team in the nation. Cameron carries a 22-28 overall record with a split 12-12 conference record. The Aggies have struggled on the road, going 8-19 when not playing on their home field.
Lone Star Conference teams were awarded their conference honors on Wednesday at the tournament banquet. The Rams garnered the following awards:
