SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State baseball team received some early praise heading into the 2021-22 year, earning one of the top junior college recruiting classes in Division II.
According to TheJBB.net, The 2022 Made It to Campus Junior College Recruiting Class Rankings selected the Rams as having the fifth best JUCO recruiting class. The list is compiled by analyzing all junior college signees and the respective schools they signed with.
Central Oklahoma led the list at No. 1, followed by Augustana at two, Young Harris at three, and fellow Lone Star Conference member UT Tyler at four.
The Rams added six junior college transfers in all this season:
Pitcher Matt Sykes from Howard College,
Infielder Kam Kelton from Blinn College,
Outfielder Rance Rosas from North Central Texas CC
First Baseman Tayten Tredaway from Seminole JC
Pitcher Nate Hardcastle from Weatherford College
Pitcher Jack Brinley from Temple College
The Rams will host their fall world series in early November before beginning the regular season in February against UT Tyler.
