SAN ANGELO, Texas – The No. 1-ranked Angelo State baseball team will return to Lone Star Conference play this weekend as the Rams host St. Mary's in a three-game series at Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Stadium beginning Friday.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Rams went 4-0 in nonconference play last week, sweeping three games against Wayland Baptist before defeating McMurry in an offensive showcase, winning 29-4. The Rams set a new program record for most runs scored with 29.

ALL-TIME SERIES: Angelo State leads 19-10, Last Meeting: ASU, 7-6
The Rams lead the all-time series against the Rattlers and have won the last four meetings between the teams. StMU won two single games back in 2016 but since then, Angelo State has averaged just over 10 runs a game.
SCOUTING ST. MARY's:
The Rattlers have had a strong start to the season, entering the weekend with only two losses in nine games. StMU will face its second top-five ranked opponent this season after suffering an 8-7 loss to #3 Central Missouri at the end of January. In Lone Star Conference play, the Rattlers took two of the three games against Oklahoma Christian before sweeping all three games against Lubbock Christian last weekend.
St. Mary's ranks fifth in the league in batting average at .306 and have scored the third most runs with 79. They rank second in hits with 97 and have tallied 70 RBIs and 27 extra base hits. On the mound, the Rattlers have a combined ERA of 5.11, ranking fourth in the league while Mason Minister is tied for second in total strikeouts with 19.
HOME RUN KING:
Josh Elvir became the new career home run leader for the Rams after hitting his 34
th career homer against Wayland Baptist, breaking Keith Towne's record of 33 set back in 2010.
