SAN ANGELO, Texas – The 12th-ranked Angelo State baseball team will face St. Edward's for the fifth time this season in a nonconference game in Austin on Tuesday before finishing the weekend at home with a three-game series against UT Permian Basin starting Friday.
Rams have already won four games this season against the Hilltoppers, sweeping the three-game series at home back at the beginning of April, and winning the previous non-conference match up 12-3.

LAST TIME OUT:
The Rams put together a three-game sweep on the road for the first time this season, defeating Cameron twice on Saturday before finishing off the series with an explosive 18-2 victory last Sunday.
Trent Baker opened the series with a shutout performance through eight innings, allowing only two hits while striking out a season-high 13 batters.

The Rams have dominated the series against the Falcons over the last few seasons, holding a 20-game win streak over UTPB dating to the 2017 season. ASU swept UTPB in a four-game series at home last time these teams faced each other, scoring 11-plus runs in three of the four games.
SCOUTING UT PERMIAN BASIN:
The Falcons rank in the middle of the pack in batting average, holding a team average of .294 at the plate. Ranking seventh in both runs scored and hits this season, the Falcons are capable of hitting the long ball, holding the third-most home runs in the LSC with 32. Jay DeSoto leads UTPB with a .381 average while Nick Hernandez has tallied nine home runs and a team-high 40 RBIs.
Pitching has been an issue this season for the Falcons, holding a team ERA of 9.14, the third-highest in the conference. UTPB has given up 331 runs this year, 266 earned, while the Falcons rank last in fielding percentage, giving up 78 errors this season. Trever Berg leads the pitching staff with three wins this season and an ERA of 7.22 with 45 strikeouts.
