SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams competed in the first outdoor meet of the season as the Rams and Belles closed out the Trinity Invitational with nine NCAA Division II provisional marks.
For the Rams, the 4x100-meter relay team claimed first in the invitational while hitting a provisional.

Ja'Micah Polk,
Braden Jetton, and
David Morgan combined for a time of 40.75.
Josh Body claimed top marks in the triple jump, hitting a provisional with a jump of 14.72m (48'-3.5"), while
Cason Brown took first in the discus with an attempt of 50.93m (167'-1"), also earning a provisional.
Finishing first was
Canon Andrews in the hammer throw, earning a provisional with a throw of 57.61m (189'-0"). Viktor Ertelt rounds out the provisional marks for the Rams with a first-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 60.17m (197'-5").
Polk also claimed first in the 100-meter dash, running a time of 10.66 while Nicholas Ellisor finished with the fastest time in the 400-meter at 48.76.
Kyle Lumpkins and
Ryan Scalet both finished first in the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles respectively, running times of 15.00 and 55.55.
Pacer Hill also claimed a first-place finish after clearing a height of 4.70m (15'-5") in the pole vault.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team also claimed a first-place finish as
Jonathan Ramirez, Scalet, Ellisor, and Brad Humphreys combined for a time of 3:21.53.
On the women's side, Jennifer Batu and
Sara Ramos both hit provisional marks in the hammer throw. Batu claimed first in the event with a throw of 56.16m (184'-3") while Ramos finished third, tossing a mark of 53.84m (176'-8").
Abby Zamzow won the triple jump, hitting a provisional with a jump of 11.95m (39'-2.5") while
Talena Murray threw a mark in the javelin of 42.23m (138'-6").
Sarah Porter finished first in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, running times of 12.46 and 25.61. Also winning two events was
Alana Holloway who won the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles after crossing the finish line at 14.79 and 1:05.74.
Coryn Peters finished with the top mark in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.50m (11'-5.75").
The Rams and Belles will pause outdoor play for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on Friday, Mar. 11.
