Track & Field Set for Indoor National Championships

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams will finish the indoor season this weekend as several athletes will compete at the 2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships hosted by Pittsburg State beginning Friday, Mar. 11.

2022 NCAA DII INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS:
-  Antonija Radic – Triple Jump (12.78m | 41'-11.25"), Long Jump (5.97m | 19'-7")
- Shiean Walters – 400-meter dash (55.57)
-  4x400-meter Relay (Shiean Walters, Maricia Spence, Zykia McDaniel, Genevie Rivera) (3:46.30)
- Sara Ramos – Weight Throw (19.17m | 62'-10.75")
- Maricia Spence – Pentathlon (3,529 pts)
- Elvis Kryukov – Heptathlon (5,356 pts)
- Jacobee Jones – Paul Vault (5.03m | 16'-6")
 
SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:
- (Dec. 3-4) ASU earned three provisional marks at the Boo Rogers Combined Events, Maricia Spence and Abby Zamzow in the pentathlon, Kyle Lumpkins in the heptathlon.
- (Jan. 14-15) The Belles claimed three provisional marks at Tech Tech's Corky Classic (Sara Ramos – weight throw, Maricia Spence – long jump, Antonija Radic – triple jump.
- (Jan. 21) ASU collected three provisional marks: Antonija Radic – triple jump, Emmett Seals – 60-meter, Josh Body – triple jump.
-(Jan. 25) Antonija Radic was named Lone Star Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
-(Feb. 11-12) ASU tallied seven provisional marks and a program record while collecting four Division II top 10 performances. Sara Ramos set a new program record in the weight throw.
-(Feb. 16) Antonija Radic was named LSC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second time.
-(Feb. 18) The ASU women's 4x400-meter relay team set a new program record with a time of 3:46.30.
-(Feb. 26) The Belles claimed second in the LSC Indoor Championships and the Rams finish third after combining for nine LSC titles on the weekend.
