The third-ranked Angelo State Rams will look to go 5-0 for the first time since the 2005 season as they travel to the Pacific Northwest for a Lone Star Conference matchup against Western Oregon on Saturday.
SECOND HALF SURGE LIFTS RAMS OVER BUFFS:
After falling behind early 7-6 at halftime against West Texas A&M, the Rams tallied 28 second-half points, leading to a 34-14 win over WT.
Nate Omayebu III collected 97 yards rushing and a touchdown while quarterback
Zach Bronkhorst threw for 279 yards with 27 completions and a score to lead the offense. Three Rams defenders tallied eight tackles while the team finished with five sacks on the day.

The Rams have won the only two previous meetings against the Wolves, winning both on the road and at home, most recently earning a 45-20 win in San Angelo back in 2019. This will be the first meeting as a conference game as the Wolves joined the LSC as affiliate members at the beginning of the 2022 campaign.
SCOUTING THE WOLVES:
- Entering the weekend with a 1-3 overall record, going 0-2 in conference play after losing to Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin in back-to-back weeks.
- The Wolves are middle of the pack in the LSC in both offense and defense, ranking sixth in points for with 25.3, and seventh in points against at 28.3.
- WOU has the best rushing defense in the conference, allowing only 71.5 yards per game on the ground.
- Offensively, the Wolves are first in the Lone Star in passing yards, averaging 252.8 yards per game, narrowly ahead of ASU.
- Omari Land leads the Wolves' rushing attack, ranking third in the LSC with 98.3 yards per game. He also has four touchdowns on the season.
- Quarterback Gannon Winker has thrown for 1,011 yards through four games with seven touchdowns and five interceptions.
- Jaylin Parnell leads the LSC with four sacks on the season and is second in total tackles with 35.
CLIMBING THE RANKINGS:
For the fourth time in a row, the Rams moved up a spot in the latest AFCA Top 25 Rankings, reaching No. 3 which matches the highest ranking in program history. The last time the Rams were No. 3 was in 1997 after starting the season 8-0.
LSC WEEKLY HONORS:
Bronkhorst is the latest Ram to earn recognition from the conference for his performance, earning LSC Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Rams to a win over WT. He is the third ASU player in four weeks to earn a weekly award.
SCORING ON DEFENSE:
The Rams have scored three defensive touchdowns this season which is tied for first in the nation.
Andrew Pitts has returned two interceptions in back-to-back weeks, including an 89-yard return against the Buffs.
QUICK HITS:
- ASU is third in offense per game in the LSC with 438 yards while second defensively, giving up 277.8 yards.
- Nate Omayebu III is first in the LSC in rushing yards with 403 on the season, rushing for four touchdowns.
