AUSTIN, Texas – The fourth-ranked Angelo State track & field teams finished day three of the Texas Relays with several top 10 marks at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium on Friday.
For the Rambelles, the 4x400-meter relay team of
Shiean Walters,
Zykia McDaniel,
Maricia Spence, and
Shadae Findley set a new program record with a time of 3:38.64, taking 11
th overall while beating out all other Division II competitors.
Spence also improved on her provisional mark in section B of the women's long jump, clearing a distance of 6.04m (19-9.75).
On the men's side,
Kyle Lumpkins earned a provisional mark in the 110-meter hurdles after crossing the finish line in 14.35 to finish 30
th overall.
Simon Rey followed with a finish of 15.08.
Devoux Deysel improved on his provisional mark in the javelin, throwing a distance of 74.37m (244-0) to take seventh overall in the event. His mark ranks first overall in Division II.
The 4x400-meter relay team hit a provisional mark as
Emmett Seals Jr.,
Prince Frimpong,
Bossman Pinkrah, and
Oussama El Bouchayby combined for a time of 3:13.74 to take 32
nd overall. The 4x100-meter relay team of
Breylin Butler,
Dorian Leda,
Braden Jetton, and
David Morgan narrowly missed out on a provisional, taking 13
th overall with a time of 41.27.
Morgan and Jetton also competed in the 100-meter dash, running times of 10.58 and 10.77 respectively.
The Rams and Belles will turn their attention home next week as ASU hosts the annual David Noble Relays beginning on Wednesday, Apr. 5.
