ABILENE, Texas - The Angelo State cross country teams wrapped up their first meet of the 2023 season at the Big Country Festival hosted by McMurry on Friday, Sept. 1.
 
Belles

• Allison Vaughn was the first runner in for the Belles, finishing seventh overall with an average mile time of 6:24.2 finishing in 19:53.9.
• Mary Brown finished second best for the Belles, 10^th overall, with an average mile time of 6:35.7.
• Coming in 12th overall was Anna Eischen who was the third finisher for the Belles with a time of 20:33.9, averaging a time of 6:37.1.
• Marina Grimaldo was the fourth runner for the Belles, 19^th overall with an average mile time of 6:58.1.

 
Rams

• The Rams finished 7^th as a team at the Big Country Festival.
• Trey Showen came in as the top runner for the Rams, finishing in 34^th with an average mile time of 5:34.4.
• Emmanuel Serna was next for the Rams, coming in at 46^th overall with an average mile time of 5:43.6.
• Wes Rogers and Tate Hughes were the final two finishers for the Rams, finishing 52^nd and 53^rd respectively.

 
The ASU cross country teams will be on the road again to compete in the Texas Tech Open on Sept. 15 in Lubbock, Texas.
