Edmond, Okla. – The Angelo State men's basketball team dropped their game this afternoon inside the Payne Athletic Center against Oklahoma Christian, 61-58.
In the defensive slugfest, the two teams combined to shoot 38.9 percent from the field and 25.5 percent from three.
The Rams out-rebounded the Eagles 38-28, and the Rams' bench outscored the Eagles' bench 30-5.
Sterling Gaston-Chapman led the Rams with nine points while grabbing five rebounds.
Denim Dawson flirted with a double-double, finishing with eight points and nine rebounds, four of which came on the offensive glass.
Carvell Teasett had seven points and two assists;
Kaden Evans and
Jalen Gilmore scored six points each, with Evans grabbing seven rebounds while Gilmore led the Rams with three assists.
Kendrick Delahoussaye and
DJ Freeman had five points each, with Delahoussaye nabbing a pair of steals.
Shemar Smith,
Damonze Woods, and
Blessing Adesipe each scored four points and blocked a shot. Adesipe grabbed a season-high five rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench.
The Rams are now 5-3 on the season and 2-2 in LSC play. They return to action on Monday at 5:30 pm. to take on Cameron, who is coming off an 84-77 loss to UT Permian Basin this afternoon.
