Lawton, Okla. – The Angelo State men's basketball team bounced back from their loss on Saturday with a 65-58 win over Cameron on Monday evening inside the Aggie Gymnasium.
The Rams' defense shut down the Aggies' offense, as they only shot 30.6 percent from the field and 23.3 percent from three-point range.
The Rams shot 45.3 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from three.
Damonze Woods led all players with a career-high 17 points. The junior shot 7-for-10 from the field and grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds. He also grabbed three of the seven Rams' steals.
Despite the presence of Aggies big man Jaxon Ingram, the Rams out-scored the Aggies 34-22 in the paint.
Kaden Evans scored 15 points on five made three-pointers. He grabbed four rebounds and blocked a late three-pointer attempt from Cameron.
Sterling Gaston-Chapman had 12 points and six rebounds. He shot 5-for-9 from the field.
Demin Dawson scored seven points and a steal, while
Jalen Gilmore scored five points, four assists, and a pair of steals.
Carvell Teasett and
Kendrick Delahoussaye assisted three times apiece.
The Rams improve to 6-3 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. They close out their 2024 schedule this week with games in Las Vegas against MSU Billings and Colorado School of Mines.
