MCKINNEY, Texas – The Angelo State football team was voted the favorite to repeat as Lone Star Conference Champions for the 2025 season, the conference office announced at LSC Football Media Day at McKinney ISD.
The Rams collected 292 points in the preseason poll, including 23 first-place votes, as voted by the league's head coaches, sports information directors, and media members.
ASU went 9-0 in conference play last season, claiming their second LSC title in three years, and advancing to the NCAA Division II playoffs.
Quarterback
Braeden Fuller was selected as the LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Fuller, a junior kinesiology major from Floresville, Texas, was the 2024 LSC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in passing yards (2,318) and touchdowns (19). He also added 10 rushing touchdowns and 678 yards on the ground.
Fuller was also named to the conference's Preseason Player to Watch List along with defensive end
Owen Seaver. Seaver, a senior finance major from Lampasas, Texas, was the 2024 LSC Defensive Lineman of the Year, collecting 41 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks.
The Rams begin the 2025 season on the road at Fort Hays State on Aug. 28 before making their home opener on Sept. 6 against Emporia State.
