Carmel, Calif. – The Angelo State golf team wrapped up play in the Patriot Invitational hosted by LSC school DBU at Quail Lodge GC, finishing tied for eighth place in a loaded, 12-team field.
The Rambelles' finish was the best among the three unranked teams in the field, and the Rambelles finished in a tie with 37
th-ranked Cal State LA while besting No. 28 Ferris State by 15 strokes.
The three-round score of 925 is the eighth-best 54-hole mark in program history.
A tight midfield meant the Rambelles finished only three strokes off a top-half finish – every team that finished ahead of ASU is a top-43-ranked team in Division II.
Beth Norton finished the tournament as the Belles' leading golfer, finishing in a tie for 15
th place with a 13-over. The senior finished ahead of ten individually ranked golfers in the top hundred.
Christine Huse finished in 23
rd, shooting a team-best four-over in round three. Huse shot even across par-threes in her 54 holes of play, the best mark in the entire field.
Mia Clarke and
Caitlin Vanderkruk shot 21 and 22 over par, respectively, finishing tied for 39
th and 42
nd.
Addison Barber matched her round two score, shooting 12-over in round three.
The Rambelles close out the regular season in April, playing in two tournaments in Arizona.
