Goodyear, Ariz. – The Angelo State golf team kicked off their final weekend of the regular season with a solid performance in the opening round of the Palm Valley Classic, hosted by Western New Mexico.
The Rambelles are tenth after the opening 18 holes of play in the 27-team field, shooting a 299 (+11).
Christine Huse leads the Rambelles after shooting par, carding a 72. The freshman sits in a tie for seventh place after the opening round.
Caitlin Vanderkruk shot a 74 (+2), placing her in 27
th place, followed by
Beth Norton (+4) and
Mia Clarke (+5).
Kara Knight shot nine-over in the opening round, while
Emma Cook, competing as an individual, shot 14 over par after 18 holes of competition.
The Rambelles play in the final round of the tournament tomorrow.
