Tucson, Ariz. – The Angelo State golf team sits in a tie for third place following the opening round of play at the Desert Invitational hosted by West Texas A&M at the Lodge at Ventana Canyon.
For the third round in a row, the Rambelles shot a round score of 299 (+11). They sit behind leaders Cal State East Bay (-1), hosts West Texas A&M (+7), and are tied with CSU Pueblo, who are coming off a win at the Palm Valley Classic last weekend.
Beth Norton carded a 73 (+1) as she sits in a tie for sixth place.
Kara Knight sits one stroke behind her teammate as she's currently tied for 12
th place, and
Mia Clarke finished three strokes over and occupies 14
th place.
Caitlin Vanderkruk is five-over, and
Christine Huse wraps up the Rambelles as she finished round seven strokes over par.
Emma Cook, competing as an individual, finished the opening round with an 82 (+10).
The Rambelles play their final round of the regular season tomorrow.
