The Series
•Angelo State-Abilene Christian: No. 3 seed Angelo State will face No. 2 seed Abilene Christian for the third time this season and are looking for revenge after dropping two 3-0 decisions to ACU on Sept. 14 and Oct. 5 earlier this season. Abilene Christian, which is ranked No. 22 in the nation, holds the overall series advantage, 55-29. Last season, the Wildcats defeated the 'Belles, 3-0, in Abilene, Texas and 3-2 at the Lone Star Conference Championships in Canyon, Texas. Angelo State will look for its first victory over Abilene Christian since a 3-1 win in San Angelo, Texas, in 2008.
The Coaches
• Angelo State: Chuck Waddington (Rensselaer, 1993) took over the ASU program in 2008 and has since guided the 'Belles to a 56-39 overall mark. Waddington has propelled the Rambelles to three consecutive LSC conference appearances. Under Waddington's tutelage, the 'Belles finished the 2010 regular season with a 17-11 overall record and a 12-2 conference mark, their best record with Waddington at the helm.
• Abilene Christian: Kellen Mock (Abilene Christian, 2005), a former standout at ACU, has begun her fifth season with the Wildcats, leading them to an overall 114-44 record. Mock guided the Wildcats to a 29-6 record last year and helped them finish second in the Lone Star Conference Championships. Mock's Wildcats finished the regular season with a 25-4 overall record and a 13-1 LSC mark for a second place finish.

• The 'Belles swept LSC foe Central Oklahoma in the first round of the LSC Tournament Thursday, Nov. 11.
• The Rambelles were led by freshman
Kaelen Valdez's double-double (12 kills, 17 digs), sophomore
Chelsea Gibson's match-high 13 kills,
Alex Woolsey's 38 assists and sophomore
Caroline Cleveland's 15 digs.
• ASU finished the regular season in third place in the Lone Star Conference with a 12-2 conference record. This is the 'Belles' best record under head coach
Chuck Waddington.
• Waddington added assistant coach Qi Wang to his staff over the summer. Wang brings a wealth of experience to Angelo State as he was the former head coach at Florida Tech, Northern Michigan and Truman State. The China native led Truman State to the national title game in 2002 and 2004, and was named Division II National Coach of the Year in 2002.
• Former East Central standout Holly Hicks also has joined the 'Belles coaching staff as graduate assistant. Hicks enters her first year of coaching with numerous hours of playing time on her resume. The Round Rock, Texas native competed as a member of the Austin Juniors, one of the top club programs in the state, and earned an athletic scholarship to Texas Tech.
• ASU Volleyball was picked to finish third in the conference behind West Texas A&M and Abilene Christian University.
This Week's Opponent
• No. 22 Abilene Christian: The Wildcats are coming off of a 3-0 sweep of No. 7 seed Texas Woman's Univeristy Thursday, Nov. 11. ACU earned the No. 2 seed in the LSC Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 25-4 overall mark and a 13-1 finish in conference action. The Wildcats lead the conference in blocks per set (2.49) and are second with a .223 hitting percentage. LSC Defensive Player of the Year, Shawna Hines, leads the conference and the squad with a .321 hitting percentage, 1.40 blocks per set, and is second with 3.73 points per set. LSC Setter of the Year, Ijeoma Morono, led the Wildcats in assists per set with 10.12. She is second in the conference behind ASU's
Alex Woolsey.
