Greenwood, Ind. – Three standouts from the Angelo State volleyball team –
Cate Boldrick,
Ireland Ferguson, and
Madi Parrish – were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, the organization announced this morning.
Boldrick, a senior Psychology student from Austin, ended her career on a high note, recording her highest single-season marks in kills (171), attack percentage (.288), and blocks (96). She also earned All-LSC Honorable Mention honors, the first all-conference award of her career.
Her 261 career blocks and her 240 block assists are both the seventh-most in the program's rally-scoring era (since 2001).
Ferguson, the Belles' libero, ended her career with the Blue and Gold on 1,061 career digs, the 16
th most in program history and the 12
th-most in the rally-scoring era.
The senior Marketing student from Venice, Florida, who was an All-LSC Second Team honoree and named to the LSC All-Tournament team, recorded the second-most digs in a single match in program history as a freshman with 39 digs in a five-set match against Oklahoma Christian on October 29
th, 2022.
Parrish, a product of Saginaw, finished the season with 435 kills, averaging 3.72 per set. She hit .245 and led the Belles with 45 service aces. Defensively, she was second on the team with 321 digs, averaging 3.24 digs per set. She recorded 20 double-doubles this season.
The Finance major, an AVCA First Team All-American, continues to write her name in the Belles Volleyball record book. She has 1,184 kills, which ranks ninth in program history, and 107 aces, which is tied for tenth in program history. She is one of six ASU players all-time to record 1,000 kills and 100 aces.
She is the sixth Belle to earn first-team All-American honors and the seventh Belle to earn multiple All-American honors.
To qualify for the CSC Academic All-District team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. They must be a sophomore academically and athletically, and must have played in 90 percent of the institution's matches or started in 66 percent of the institution's matches.
