West Texas A&M took an early 4-0 lead to start the match, but the Rambelles rallied to take a 19-18 lead. With the set tied at 18, Cleveland dove for a ball, setting up the kill for Woolsey who spiked it over the net giving the 'Belles their first lead of the set. The resilient Lady Buffs regained their composure during a timeout and tied the game at 19 on an Ashley Davis kill. With the score knotted at 19, West Texas went on a 6-2 run to end the first set by a score of 25-21.
The gritty 'Belles took the court in the second set with one thing on their minds: winning. Angelo State quickly took a 4-2 lead taking advantage of a West Texas setting miscue. However, the Lady Buffs' offense would not go quietly as they knocked down three kills and took advantage of a few Rambelle mistakes to take a 10-7 advantage. Trailing by three, the Rambelles tried to play catch up and came as close as one four times before West Texas took its largest lead of the set on a Davis kill (18-14) forcing an Angelo State timeout. The 'Belles returned to the floor with determined looks on their faces and Gibson slammed a kill to cut the Lady Buffs' lead to three. Huth took matters into her own hands and slammed down a kill off of a dig that was sent over the net which resulted in Huth's unassisted kill that pulled the 'Belles within one (19-20). West Texas again took a two-point lead on a Keidra Williams kill (21-23), but the 'Belles weren't finished scoring as Valdez found the back corner of the court for a kill to give the 'Belles a 24-23 lead after back-to-back WT miscues. After a block error by the 'Belles tied the set at 24, Angelo State collected back-to-back points, taking advantage of West Texas A&M miscues, to win the second set 28-26.
After having not lost a set since Oct. 29 to St. Edward's, the Lady Buffs came out swinging in the third set. They surged ahead to an 8-4 lead on a Davis kill. Down 10-5, Angelo State took a timeout which seemed to help as Huth slammed down her ninth kill of the match to set a new career-high. After cutting the Lady Buffs' lead to three (12-9), Ohl saved a ball that was sent out of bounds as she flipped over the scorer's table then came back to collect the block assist with Huth. That seemed to turn things around for the 'Belles as they tied the set at 12 on a WT attack error. However, the Lady Buffs would tack on a few more points to take a four-point advantage (18-14). Despite their tireless effort, the 'Belles were unable to recover and dropped the third set by a final of 25-16.
The 'Belles fought hard in the fourth set trying to push the match to five, but the Lady Buffs' defense was consistent and limited the Rambelles to just .024 hitting. Angelo State did not trail by more than a few points throughout the match as the 'Belles matched the top-seeded Lady Buffs point for point. The Rambelles managed to take the lead, 12-11, as they capitalized on a West Texas attack error. The lead was short-lived, however, as the Lady Buffs tied the score at 12 and eventually took the lead for good on a Lauren Thedford kill. West Texas A&M took a four-point lead (21-17) on a Rambelle attack error, but the 'Belles again cut the Lady Buffs' lead to two (21-19) on a Valdez kill. That would be the last point the 'Belles could muster as West Texas knocked down four consecutive points to win the match and the LSC Championship, 25-19.
Davis led West Texas with a match-high 19 kills, while Thedford added 18 kills and 18 digs for a double-double. Teresa Dunn also recorded a double-double collecting 16 assists and 16 digs, as did Erika Dupree who tallied 41 assists and 13 digs.
