SAN ANGELO, Texas – No. 8 Angelo State meets Tarleton State on the baseball field for the 30th time in the all-time series at 3 p.m. on Friday for the first of a four-game Lone Star Conference series at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex in Stephenville.
Angelo State (27-11, 11-5 LSC) is coming off a sweep of Eastern New Mexico last weekend, while the Texans (15-16, 7-7 LSC) split their series with Incarnate Word. The Rams are in a tie at the top of the LSC standings coming into the weekend and will be playing in their final regular season road trip of the season. Tarleton State is in seventh place in the conference standings and is playing their final four home games of the season.
The Rams and Texans will play a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday before concluding the series with a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The No. 8 Rams are led by
Kevin Brooks who is in his eighth season and has guided the program to 292 wins coming into this weekend's series against Tarleton State. Brooks is 22-7 all-time against the Texans and has won nine of his 12 games in Stephenville.

Bryan Conger is in his fourth year as the head coach of Tarleton State and has led the Texans to a 15-16 record to start this season. The Texans were the preseason pick to finish second in the conference, but are currently in seventh with 12 games to play.
Tarleton State is hitting .279 as a team and have a 4.74 pitching staff ERA prior to Angelo State's arrival to town. The team is 5-8 at home and has four regulars who are hitting above .300. Tarleton State has hit 49 doubles, 11 triples and 15 home runs. The pitching staff has struck out 199 batters in 250.2 innings.
Andrew Wolfe leads the Texans with a .341 batting average, while Ryan Small has contributed a team-leading 25 RBI.
