GREENWOOD, Ind. – Angelo State senior infielder
Austin Beck added another national honor to his decorated career Tuesday, earning First Team Academic All-America recognition from College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Beck, an Allen, Texas native pursuing his MBA, was the Lone Star Conference's lone representative on all three of the Academic All-America teams. He earned the distinction after maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA while excelling both in the classroom and on the field.
The Rams' second baseman capped off a historic career in 2026 by becoming the first player in NCAA Division II history to surpass 300 career runs scored. Beck finished his career as the Division II all-time leader with 311 runs scored.
On the field this season, Beck batted .339 with a .449 on-base percentage and a .560 slugging percentage. He collected 74 hits, including 30 extra-base hits, while driving in 62 runs and scoring 69 times. He also stole 50 bases, setting Angelo State's single-season record and extending his career program record in the category.
The national honor adds to an already impressive list of accolades for Beck this season. He earned All-South Central Region recognition from both the D2CCA and NCBWA, was named the Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year and received First Team All-LSC honors.
