Rambelles Bring Home Fourth-Straight LSC Title

Fourth program at ASU to win four-straight conference crowns

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's track & field team, by the smallest of margins,  won its fourth-straight Lone Star Conference title over Abilene Christian 195.5 to 195 while the Rams finished in third on Saturday evening at the LSC Championships held in Commerce, Texas.

“I can't say enough of our performances today,” head track & field coach James Reid said. “I told the kids from the very beginning that on both sides it was going to come down to single digits. Both teams competed extremely well. The women are in elite company winning four-straight titles and I am extremely proud and excited for them.”

The meet on the women's side came down to the 4x400-meter relay with the Rambelles needing to either beat ACU or finish within one spot of the Wildcats. The relay of Keshawna Fisher, Theresa Sue, Lexi Brooks and Jaylen Rodgers set a season best with a 3:46.37 and placed second place behind ACU.

The Rambelles scored a total of 195.5 points while ACU was in second place with 195. The Rams scored a total of 152 point and finished in third in the team race. Abilene Christian won with 176.333 points and Texas A&M-Kingsville was second with 170.8333.
