AMARILLO – A team total of 324 has the Angelo State golf team in 10
th place after the opening round of the WTAMU Lady Buff Stampede at the par-72 Tascosa Country Club.
Courtney Rutledge led the Rambelles by shooting a 79 and enters the final round in a tie for 18
th.
Abby Bobo (T29) carded an 81 with
Maury McCormick (T36) and
Ashley Bartholomew (T36) recording rounds of 82 and
Krista Czarnecki (T49) an 85.
“Our ball striking was wonderful, but they are disappointed in their scores,” ASU head coach Kathleen Price said. “We had a super practice round but weren't able to bring that over into today's rounds. They played solid but there were some hiccups that cost us some strokes.”

Lubbock Christian leads the tournament after shooting a 304 (+16) with Midwestern State on their heels with a team total of 309. Chantry McMahan (Texas A&M-Commerce), Leina Kim (CSU-Pueblo) and Anna Schopp (LCU) lead the tournament at 1-over.
The Angelo State five return to the course at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday for their final rounds of the season's opening tournament.
“We are anxious to put this one behind us and put up some better scores tomorrow,” Price added.
