SAN ANGELO – The No. 22-ranked Angelo State men's basketball returns to action at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday against Arkansas Tech (5-4) at the Tucker Coliseum in Russellville, Ark.

ASU (10-0), which is 4-0 away from San Angelo this season, is on the longest winning streak in program history after earning a 107-91 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan on Tuesday at the Junell Center. The victory also extended the best start to a season in program history and came just hours after the team found out it was ranked No. 22 in this week's NABC Division II Coaches Poll. It was the first time the Rams have been ranked since the 2008-09 season.

Arkansas Tech is 3-2 at home this season and is coming off a 74-73 loss to Missouri Southern on Tuesday. The only common opponent between ASU and ATU is East Central. The Rams earned a 72-62 win in their meeting with the Lions, while the Wonder Boys lost 94-78 at home to ECU.

"Arkansas Tech has been one of the best programs in the country for the last several years, including conference championships and NCAA tournament bids," ASU head coach Chris Beard said. "They are well coached and have talented players. It is another quality game on our schedule to prepare us for conference play."

The Wonder Boys are coached by Doug Karleskint, who played for Beard at Fort Scott Community College from 1999-2000. With Beard as coach and Karleskint playing, FSCC won a school record 19 games and advanced to the Kansas Jayhawk Conference Regional Tournament. Thursday's game marks the first time Beard has coached against a former player who is now a head coach.
