Quotes – Chris Beard, Angelo State head coachOn playing against Oklahoma Wesleyan on Tuesday at the Junell Center:"We have a lot of respect for their program. They came in here last year and gave us all we could handle. We were down at halftime. They have some really good talent and a good coach and were able to beat Midwestern State last year a night after we beat them here at the Junell. They have our full attention and we are going to prepare the best we can and will be ready to play against a quality opponent."
On the overtime win against Arkansas Tech last Saturday:"I never saw any panic in their eyes and we knew that we just had to keep chipping away. We had some really good defensive positions, but Arkansas Tech was able to hit some dagger shots. I was proud of how we responded. We had to make two really big plays at the end of regulation with a defensive stop and a basket, which we did. In the overtime I thought we played about as well as we have all year."
