SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State men's basketball team will play its final home game of the season at 4 p.m. on Saturday against Cameron in a Lone Star Conference contest at Stephens Arena inside the Junell Center.
ASU (16-8, 6-6 LSC) is 10-2 at home this season and is currently tied for third place in the LSC standings with Eastern New Mexico. The Rams beat the Aggies (11-12, 5-7 LSC) in the first meeting between the two teams this season. The game will also be the final home game in the careers of seniors

The Rams are coming off a 78-68 loss at Midwestern State on Wednesday and have dropped their last three. CU has won its previous two games with wins over West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Kingsville. ASU enters the game ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II South Central regional rankings. The team is averaging 74.5 points per game this season and is limiting the opposition to a 41.1 shooting percentage which ranks second in the LSC.
ASU will complete its regular-season schedule with a road game next Saturday at Texas A&M-Kingsville before preparing to make its first appearance at the Lone Star Conference Basketball Championships in three seasons. The tournament will be hosted at the Allen Events Center for the third straight season.
ASU, Cameron Round 1: The Rams went into Aggie Gym on Jan. 25 and secured an 88-75 LSC win by hitting nine 3-pointers and staking themselves out to a 44-30 halftime lead.
Tommy Woolridge recorded a season-high 32 points after going 6-for-6 on 3-pointers, while
Chris Talkington added 20 points by knocking down three 3-pointers.
Kenny Williams added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Rams, while
Bryan Hammond had eight assists. Craig Foster and Will Cook led the Aggies with Foster scoring 22 points and Cook going for 20. The Rams shot 60.4 percent from the field in the game and 56.3 percent on 3-pointers (9 of 16).

Kenny Williams has proved to be one of the best players in the nation throughout the season and enters this week leading the Lone Star Conference with 17.7 points per game and nine double-doubles. He is second in the conference with 8.0 rebounds per game and leads ASU with 21 blocked shots which ranks eighth in the conference. He led the Rams with 18 points on Wednesday at Midwestern State. Williams, who is a senior from St. Louis, is averaging 17.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in conference play. He has scored in double digits in 23 of 24 games this season and has scored over 20 in 10 games. A LSC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week selection this season, he also has 20 games of five or more rebounds and has nine double digit rebounding games. His season-high in points came in a 28-point effort against East Central in the season-opener and he recorded a season-high 15 rebounds against ENMU last month in Portales, N.M. Williams is shooting 47.5 percent from the field which ranks 14th in the conference.
Bryan Hammond has been one of the most consistent players throughout the conference this season and is averaging 11.4 points per game throughout the year and 13.2 points per game in conference play. He ranks third in the LSC with 114 assists and has scored 20 or more point in three of the past six games. Hammond had eight assists and seven points on Wednesday in Wichita Falls. A senior from New Orleans, he is shooting 48.5 percent from the field this season and 74.3 percent from the free-throw line (75 of 101). A two-year starter for the Rams after transferring from Nicholls State, Hammond has recorded 190 career assists and has scored in double digits 13 times this season. He established a new career-high with nine assists last Saturday in Commerce.
Tommy Woolridge recorded a 20-point performance against Commerce where he hit three 3-pointers and scored seven points on two 3-pointers on Wednesday against the Mustangs. A junior from Chicago, Woolridge is averaging 9.6 points per game throughout the season and is averaging 11.5 points per game in conference play. He has scored in double figures 10 times this season, including a season-high 32 points at Cameron last month. Woolridge was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week on Jan. 7th and Jan. 27th. He leads the Rams with 37 3-pointers and is shooting 42.2 percent from beyond the arc (37 of 87).
Chris Talkington is second on the team with 25 3-pointers made. He is averaging 9.7 points per game in conference play and 7.6 points per game throughout the season. Talkington, a senior from Grand Prairie who scored six points on Wednesday, transferred from Nicholls State along with Hammond. He has averaged 9.3 points per game in 44 games in his career at ASU and has made 68 3-pointers over that time.
Daniel Skinner is second on the team with 4.8 rebounds per game and is also averaging 7.2 points per game this season. A junior from Dallas, Skinner has scored in double figures eight times this season and has grabbed five or more rebounds in 15 times this season. Skinner had seven points and five rebounds on Wednesday against MSU. He recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds against York College earlier this season.
Omari Gudul also recorded a double-double against York College with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Gudul had started 19 games this season and is averaging 4.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. A sophomore from the Congo, Gudul scored a season-high 14 points two weeks ago against ENMU at the Junell Center. He has secured five or more rebounds in eight games. His is coming off a 10 point, four-rebound performance against MSU.

Thomas Brandsma and
Ryan Marsh are averaging over 10 minutes per game this season and have each added a spark to the lineup. Chambers, a freshman from Louisiana, is averaging 4.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. He has scored in double digits four times this season and scored a season-high 13 against Northern New Mexico. Chambers will also compete in the long jump for the ASU Track & Field team this spring. Marsh is second on the team with 17 blocked shots and is averaging 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in his senior season. He had a season-high four blocked shots in the first meeting against Commerce and had a season-high six rebounds against West Texas A&M on Jan. 15 when he also had three blocks. Brandsma is averaging 3.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in his first season at ASU after transferring from McMurry along with Williams. A Colleyville native, he scored a season-high 11 points against A&M-Commerce in early January and recorded six rebounds last week against Tarleton State. He had four points and two rebounds in Wichita Falls. Sutton, a sophomore from San Angelo, is averaging 4.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He scored a season-high 12 points against West Texas A&M at the Junell Center and has scored in double digits in four games this season.
Nash Nelson has started the past two games after playing the first 20 as a reserve. Nelson, a sophomore from Colleyville, started his collegiate career at Harding University before transferring to ASU as a sophomore. He has 20 assists this season, with seven of those coming in LSC play.
CAMERON AGGIE REPORT (11-12, 5-7 LSC)
The Aggies are on a two-game winning streak with victories over the Buffs and Javelinas. The two-game streak is a response to a seven-game losing streak and has Cameron in position to make a late-season run at a higher seed in the LSC tournament.
CU is 4-7 away from Lawton this season and is averaging 69.0 points per game and is shooting 44.4 percent from the field. The Aggies have made 130 3-pointers this season (32.9 percent) and have a plus 1.6 rebounding advantage per game over its opponents.
The Aggies are led by senior guards Will Cook and Craig Foster this season. Foster, who was selected as the LSC Preseason Player of the Year, is averaging 15.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game and is leading the team with 109 assists and 36 steals. A hometown player, Foster went to Lawton High and was an NABC All-American and the LSC Player of the Year last season after averaging 16.6 points per game and dishing out 153 assists.
Cook is in his first season at Cameron after transferring in from Samford University. A 6-foot-5 shooting guard, Cook leads the Ags with 15.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He has also contributed 33 assists, eight blocked shots and 11 steals.
Desmond Henry is third on the team with 7.9 points per game and is averaging 3.2 rebounds. Tank Mayberry, the tallest and biggest Aggie on the roster, stands at 6-foot-10 and weigh 300 pounds. Mayberry is a Corpus Christi native who started his career at Navarro College and UTSA before heading north to Oklahoma. He is averaging 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Ags this season.
