SAN ANGELO – Back at home after earning a 28-point road win over West Texas A&M on Wednesday, the No. 14/10-ranked Angelo State basketball team will host Eastern New Mexico at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Junell Center in its third Lone Star Conference game of the season.
The Rams (14-1, 2-0 LSC) are 10-0 on the Stephens Arena court this season and have amassed a 21-2 home record over the past two seasons under head coach

Cinco Boone. The Greyhounds (7-9, 0-3 LSC) are 2-4 in road games this season and 4-1 in neutral court games. ENMU opened its season with a pair of wins over Texas A&M International and Oklahoma Panhandle State at the Ed Messbarger Tip-Off Classic at the Junell Center. ASU, which split its season series with ENMU last season with the home team winning both games, leads the nation with a 55.6 percent field-goal percentage, a 30.1 scoring margin advantage and 21.3 assists per game. The Rams, who are currently ranked No. 14 by the NABC and No. 10 in the D2SIDA Media Poll, are averaging 92.7 points per game this season and have limited their opposition to 62.6 points per game and to a 37.5 field-goal percentage. ASU has four players averaging in double-figure scoring this season and the team is averaging 10.7 steals per game and owns a plus-11.1 rebounding margin advantage.
The Rams, who are 6-0 on Saturdays this season, are on a nine-game winning streak which is one win away from matching the program's all-time win streak which was established last season when the team opened the year with a 10-0 record. ASU, which is 33-10 under Beard, has won its last 10 home games dating back to a 72-64 loss to Tarleton State last season on Feb. 12, 2014. The Rams are 1-0 at home in conference play this season after upending the then-No. 3 ranked Texans 78-60 last Wednesday. ASU has won all but one of its 14 games by double digits and has won nine games by 30 or more points. The Rams shot 55.4 percent from the field against WT and have not shot below 44.6 percent in a game this season. The best shooting percentage came at 64.7 percent against York College, while the 44.6 low came in their 18-point win over Tarleton State where they limited the Texans to 34.5 percent shooting.
ENMU has dropped its past three games and five of its last six games coming into Saturday's game. The Greyhounds fell 75-67 at home to Texas A&M-Kingsville on Wednesday after opening conference play with a road loss to Cameron (98-71) and a road loss to Midwestern State (77-42) last Saturday.
ASU will return to action following its game against ENMU by travelling to Wichita Falls to play Midwestern State (15-3, 4-0 LSC) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the D.L. Ligon Coliseum. The Mustangs, who have opened LSC play with wins over Texas A&M-Commerce, West Texas A&M, ENMU and Tarleton State, are off this weekend and will not play another game until hosting the Rams. ASU and MSU split their regular-season meetings last season, but the Mustangs ended the Rams' season with an 82-63 win at the LSC tournament in Allen.

RAM ROSTER REPORTDemario Mayfield comes into this weekend leading the Rams with 16.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game to go along with six double-doubles and one triple-double this season. A senior from Royston, Georgia, Mayfield is in his first season with the Rams and is coming off a 17-point performance in the win at West Texas A&M on Wednesday. He is averaging 19.5 points per game in the first two LSC games of the year after going for 22 points against Tarleton State and has scored in double-figures in 13 of 15 games this season. He scored a season-best 23 points against Colorado Mesa, Western State and UTPB this season and established the first triple-double in program history by going for 14 points, 10 rebounds and a season-high 13 assists against Arlington Baptist.
Chris Jones was named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on Monday and then went out and led the Rams with 18 points in the win over WT on Wednesday. Jones came into the week second in the nation with 47 steals and leads the conference with 83 assists. He is averaging 14.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game along with 5.5 assists and 3.1 steals per game this season. A senior from Dallas, Jones played his first three seasons at the University of North Texas before transferring to ASU this season. He has scored in double figures in 13 of 15 games this season, including scoring a season-high 23 points in wins over Western State and UTPB. Jones also established a career-best with 12 assists against York College in his first double-double of the season where he also had 16 points and was only three steals shy of a triple-double.
Marsell Holden leads the Rams with 42 3-pointers this season and is shooting 42.9 percent (42 of 98) from beyond the arc. A senior from Farrell, Pennsylvania, Holden is averaging 13.7 points per game this season and is 25 of 31 (80.6 percent) from the free-throw line. A started in all 15 games this season, Holden has also supplied 20 assists and 14 steals. Holden was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week three weeks ago after hitting a career-high seven 3-pointers against Arkansas-Monticello.
Raijon Kelly has also started all 15 games this season and is averaging 10.5 points and 4.0 assists per game. Kelly scored 11 points in the win over West Texas A&M on Wednesday on a 5 of 8 shooting performance which took his season's field-goal percentage to 60 percent (66 of 110). Kelly, a senior from St. Paul, Minnesota, played his first three seasons at Samford University before transferring to ASU this season. He is third on the team with 60 assists this season and has scored in double figures in 10 of 15 games. He went for a season-high 15 points in wins over Arkansas Tech, UTPB and York College. He is averaging 10.5 points per game in LSC play after scoring 10 points against Tarleton State when he also had five assists.
Tommy Woolridge is coming off a season-high 14 points against West Texas A&M where he went 3 of 4 from beyond the arc and 5 of 7 from the free-throw line. A senior from Chicago, Woolridge is in his second season with the Rams. He led ASU with 37 3-pointers last season and also had a career-high 32-point game against Cameron. Woolridge is averaging 5.1 points per game this year and has made 13 3-pointers. Â
Angelo State has had strong contributions throughout the season from the junior class which is bolstered by
Omari Gudul,
Brentine Taylor,
Bilal Richardson,
Thomas Brandsma and
DeQuavious Wagner. Richardson made his third straight start for the Rams on Wednesday and is averaging 6.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He has one double-double this season coming in a 10 point, 12-rebound performance against UAM and scored a season-high 15 points against York College. Taylor is averaging 5.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, while Brandsma is at 2.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game after scoring four points and grabbing four rebounds against WT. Gudul is coming off scoring 10 points against WT and leading the Rams with seven rebounds. In his second season at ASU, Gudul is averaging 7.7 points and 5.3 rebounds. He scored a season-high 15 points in the win at McMurry and has secured five or more rebounds in nine games this season.
Wagner is averaging 4.3 points per game for the Rams in his first season at ASU after transferring from the University of Arkansas. Wagner scored a season-high 10 points in a road win at Western New Mexico earlier this season and has been a strong defensive player throughout the season for the Rams from the guard position with 14 steals.

ENMU GREYHOUND REPORTThe Greyhounds come into San Angelo looking for their first conference win of the season and are led by Stott Carter who is in his first season as the head coach at ENMU. The Greyhounds earned a 72-68 overtime win over the Rams last season in Portales on Jan. 18, 2014 before falling 77-75 to the Rams at the Junell Center on Feb. 8, 2014.
John Gilliam leads the Greyhounds with 15.3 points per game and has also added 33 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game. Gilliam is a junior guard from San Bernardino, California who also has 12 steals and has hit 24 3-pointers this season. Lawrence Domingo and Chris Wyms are both averaging just over 13 points per game, while Michael Randle is at 10.6 points per game. Wyms, a junior guard from California, leads the Greyhounds with 38 assists and 16 steals. Randle, who is from Houston and is one of two Texans on the roster, has 23 assists and has hit 13 3-pointers.
Demetrius Balark is at 9.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in his junior season and has added 15 assists and 10 steals, while Jason Clardy is averaging 4.6 rebounds and 5.4 rebounds per game. Wyms leads the team with 27 3-pointers this season. ENMU is averaging 77.2 points per game this season and is shooting 38.8 percent from the field. The team's only overtime game came in its season opener when they beat TAMIU 92-88 at the Junell Center.
ENMU will follow its game in San Angelo by travelling to Commerce to face A&M-Commerce next Wednesday before hosting Tarleton State next Saturday in Portales. The Rams and Greyhounds will meet for the second time this season when ASU travels to New Mexico for a game on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Greyhound Arena.
