SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State men's basketball team dominated Cameron for a full 40 minutes Saturday afternoon, beating Cameron 81-58 in the Stephens Arena at the Junell Center.
The Rams (7-2, 1-1 LSC) matched their season-high in three-pointers made with 12 in the game and spread around the scoring around with six players scoring at least seven points.
ASU forward Will Adler got the Rams going with back-to-back three pointers to open the game. Brandon Williams followed with a pair of buckets himself and the Rams grabbed a 10-0 lead less than three minutes in.
Adler continued with the hot hand throughout the game, hitting four total three-pointers and scoring 20 points overall. The junior also pulled down three rebounds.
Cameron finally got on the board with 16:33 remaining and began to chip away at the ASU lead, coming within four points of the Rams with 12 minutes left in the half.
Ran Tut stopped the Aggie run with a post move score in the lane, but ASU was unable to push the lead much wider.
Finally, Adler sparked another run with a three-pointer at the 5:26 mark. The Rams scored nine of the next 11 points after Adler's shot, ending the opening half on a 14-2 run and with a 13-point lead.
The lead ballooned in the second half as the Rams continued to press. Williams got the first five ASU points of the half, hitting a three-pointer and a jumper in the low post, to increase the lead to 15.
Williams' jumper kicked off a 12-0 run from the Rams, highlighted by a three-pointer from Tut and back-to-back fast break layups from Daron Mims and Ja'Michael Brown. The run put Angelo State up by 25, and it did not stop there.
Williams continued his consistent scoring output with 13 points against the Aggies, marking his seventh game of the season in double figures.
With 10:54 remaining half, Tut hit again from behind the arc to put the Rams up by 30 points, their largest lead of the night. Tut had his best offensive night of the season against the Aggies, matching his career high with 10 points and grabbed four rebounds as well.
Cameron clawed back within 19 points with just over five minutes to play in the game, but it would be the closest they got as the game was winding down.
Buckets from Brandon Conwright and James Kirksey kept the Rams on top, and a pair of free throws from Antonio Singleton put ASU back up by 20.
Davion Cole-Johnson saw his first playing time of the season in the game's final minutes as well, recording a pair of assists and a block during his time on the floor.
The Rams continued to trade buckets with the Aggies for the final four minutes, ending the game with a 23-point win.
ASU will now break for finals next week, but will be back on the court on December 19 in Lubbock to take on the Lubbock Christian Chaps.
