SAN ANGELO, Texas – Former Angelo State University men's basketball player, DeVaughn Jenkins, signed his first professional contract overseas in the Kosovo Super League with KB Lipjani.

"We are very proud and excited for DJ as he accomplishes a life-long goal of playing professional basketball. DJ was such an unselfish person in our program and was always about what helped our team win games. We loved coaching him and are super proud that he's a graduate of our program and now will continue his playing career. We wish him the best with his new opportunity!" said head coach Cinco Boone.

Jenkins, a native of Archer, Florida, was a transfer student from the College of Central Florida. In his sophomore year at Central Florida, he scored 11.3 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the field, while averaging 5.6 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 25 points against Florida State College at Jacksonville. The 6-7 forward, recorded four games of double-digit rebounding with his highest being 11 at Miami Dade and State College of Florida. He helped lead the Patriots to a 23-8 record that season.

At Angelo State in his junior season, Jenkins came out of his redshirt season half way through the year due to injuries on the team and scored a game high eight points against West Texas A&M.

In his senior campaign, he mustered up a pair of double-doubles. He notched 10 rebounds and 19 points against McMurry early on in the season. He recorded his second double-double against Western New Mexico with 10 rebounds and 13 points. He averaged a .500 shooting percentage on the floor and .533 percentage from the free throw line. He finished his senior season with 60 rebounds, eight blocks, and 62 points.
