Nicholas Novak Â
The Stillwater junior hit .337 and reached base at a .447 clip. Novak was able to perform in situations with runners on the bases as he has driven in a team third 56 RBI. He is second in the Lone Star Conference in runs scored with 81, only one run behind Josh Elvir, who led the conference. The Minnesota native showed big league range at the short stop position, combining with Parker Bramlett up the middle for 28 double plays.
Jordan Williams
Williams was the definition of consistent at the hot corner, carrying a .957 fielding percentage and a .358 batting average. Not the prototypical power-hitting third baseman, Williams was fourth in the LSC in runs scored and hits, third in walks, and second in sacrifice bunts and sacrifice flies. His ability to reach base and move runners was crucial for setting up the Rams high-scoring lineup for success. The redshirt freshman was able to move himself around the diamond on his own accord as well, swiping 20 extra bags on the season so far.
Josh Elvir
Elvir currently leads the nation in batting average, on base percentage, runs batted in, and slugging percentage. He also ranks fourth in the nation in runs scored, third in total bases, and second in triples. He led the Lone Star Conference in nine categories (batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage, runs scored, hits, runs batted in, doubles, triples, home runs, and walks), and continues to collect honors as a result, now the South Central Region Player of the Year in two separate polls.
Lachlan Mayo
Mayo has been steady at the plate for the Rams in the designated hitter spot. He currently retains a batting average of .383 with an OPS of 1.097, making him a very effective in his 48 games played this season. The senior has struck out only 25 times while drawing 29 walks. He is currently 8-9 in stolen bases on the season as well.
Nick Seginowich
Seginowich has been a fixture at the catcher position for the Rams all season long. His .386 average and 14 home runs have made him a threat to pitchers all season long, and are one of the big reasons why the Angelo State lineup scores more runs than any other team in the nation. He also holds the second highest slugging percentage on the team at .698, and has accounted for 132 total bases of production for the Rams. Behind the plate, the Canadian junior has a .983 fielding percentage and thrown out 13 of the 26 runners who have attempted to steal a base on him.
Trent Baker
As just a sophomore, Baker has earned the ace spot in the Angelo State pitching rotation. The Georgetown hurler is holding hitters to a .240 average over 300 at bats and maintains a 2.9 ERA with 62 strikeouts to just 20 walks. He has shown his ability to stay in the game for long appearances with his four complete games now under his belt. Baker holds a 10-1 record going into the South Central Super Regional series against Colorado Mesa
