SAN ANGELO – In a bid to rebound from their loss last Saturday to #8 DBU, the Belles look to correct their path this week despite a pair of formidable opponents in #19 West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Commerce, who, like Angelo State, are receiving votes in this week's USC (United Soccer Coaches) Division II Poll.
The Belles are 8-2-1 overall this season and 3-2-1 in conference play. Currently sitting on ten conference points this season, the Belles are fifth in the LSC standings with only seven matches remaining.
Avery McNeme and
Valerie Solis both are tied for the conference lead with seven assists each; McNeme has three goals as well while Solis has two on the season, most recently scoring last Saturday at DBU with a beautiful solo effort in the Patriots' penalty area.
Grace Jordan and
Cindy Rodriguez both have four goals on the season for the Belles, with the freshman Jordan only needing 11 shots to reach the four-goal mark. She also has assisted twice this season, tallying ten total points.
The Belles defense allowed a season-high 14 shots last time out, with the last match also marking the third time this season the Belles allowed five shots on target. Defender

Kira Miller has recorded 21 saves and a conference-high seven shutouts.
The Belles open their week with their final Wednesday home match of the regular season when they host #19 West Texas A&M at the ASU Soccer Field.
The Lady Buffs are 8-2 on the season and 4-1 in conference play, their sole LSC loss being a 5-4 overtime loss to DBU. The Lady Buffs have scored 39 goals this season, second-most in all of Division II.
Offensively, the Lady Buffs run through forward Hannah Kelley-Lusk. The senior has 14 goals for the season, second-best in Division II, as well as assisting five times this season. The Lady Buffs also have Asha James, who has scored eight times this season, tied for second in the conference.
The Lady Buffs currently sit third in the LSC standings on 12 conference points with a game in hand on DBU, who currently sits on top of the standings with 15 points.
The Belles have not won against West Texas A&M since 2017 and have not beaten them in San Angelo since 2015.
The Belles then go on the road to East Texas to face Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday. The Lions are 5-4-1 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. The Lions currently occupy eighth place in the LSC standings with nine points.
The Lions have scored 29 times this season, tied with the Belles for third-most in the conference. Eight of their goals this season have been scored by Karalie Morrison, who is tied for second in the LSC. The freshman has also recorded five assists on the season.
The Belles are 8-10 against the Lions since 2012, with the Belles having last won in Commerce in 2018.
After this weekend, the Belles will travel to Lubbock Christian next Wednesday before hosting UT-Tyler next Saturday.
