Richardson, Texas - The Angelo State women's soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll, the conference announced this afternoon.
DBU is picked to finish first in the standings with 662 total points and 38 first-place votes; Midwestern State is projected to finish with 583 total points and 2 first-place votes; and Texas Woman's is projected to finish third with 581 points and 3 first-place votes. UT Dallas and UT Tyler round out the top five.
The Rambelles finished last season with a 9-5-5 overall record and 8-3-3 in LSC action.
Mike Erwin begins his tenure at Angelo State with nine returners from last year's squad and added 13 new players to the fold as the Belles look to start the season off on the right foot.
McKenna Vela of DBU was tabbed the league's Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. DBU Junior Defender Kenzi Tufts was named the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, and
Melyna Martinez out of UTD was named the Goalkeeper of the Year.
Madison Bourzikas was named the Offensive Player to Watch for the Rambelles,
Ashlyn Vick was named the Defensive Player to Watch for the Rambelles, and
Claire Stoermer was named the Goalkeeper to watch for the Rambelles.
