Kira Miller and defender
Cassidy Hill – were named United Soccer Coaches (USC) Scholar All-Americans, the organization announced this morning.
The only two selections from the Lone Star Conference, Miller and Hill were both named to the Scholar All-American Second Team.
Miller, the LSC Goalkeeper of the Year, receives her first all-American honor in her collegiate career. A 3.86 GPA student studying Exercise Science, the shot stopper has almost doubled her career shutouts in one season, recording 12 this season after only recording 15 shutouts in her entire career previously. The goalkeeper played every single minute for the Belles this season and recorded 53 saves. She helped lead the Belles to a 16-win season, tied for the most wins they've achieved under head coach
Travis McCorkle.
Hill, a two-time All-LSC First Team selection, receives her first all-American honor for her performances this season in the Belles' backline. A Geoscience student with a 3.62 GPA, the defender led a defensive unit that only allowed 0.83 goals per game, best in the LSC, as well as shutting out their opponents 12 times, best in the conference.
